• Vikram

Kamal Haasan plays the lead character in the action thriller. The movie is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International.  Actors  Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi also play significant parts in the movie. Chemban Vinod Jose, Narain, and Kalidas Jayaram make up the film’s supporting cast. In the thriller, Suriya makes a brief cameo appearance. The movie went on to be a  major box office success and the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of the year.

• Gargi

Directed by Gautham Ramachandran, the movie is about a school teacher, Gargi, who tries to prove her father’s innocence. Gargi’s father is accused of abusing a child, so she takes the help of a young lawyer with no courtroom experience to save her father. Sai Pallavi, Kaali Venkat, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and V. Jayaprakash are the actors who play significant roles in the film.

• Etharkkum Thunindhavan

With a total worldwide take of Rs 179 crore, according to TOI, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, starring South superstar Suriya, joined the list of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2022. It is about a lawyer who decides to punish a group of goons, including the minister’s son.

• Valimai

 A Tamil blockbuster created by the collaboration of South superstar Ajith Kumar, Karthikeya, and Huma Qureshi. Valimai had a $150 million budget and ended up making 225 million dollars worldwide, according to TOI. The film’s main character is an IPS officer who is determined to prevent a gang of illegal bikers from committing more crimes in his area. As the story progresses the plot gets more thrilling and entertaining.

• Thiruchitrambalam

Dhanush is the lead actor in the humorous romantic comedy  Thiruchitrambalam. The narrative revolves around the life of Thiruchitrambalam and his father. Thiruchitrambalam got acclaimed for its outstanding performances by the lead actors. The film’s compelling story also connected with the audience. It was a big success at the box office, earning Rs 110 crore worldwide.

• Beast

Beast, starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde and produced on a Rs 150 crore budget, managed to earn a spot on the list of highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2022.  The Nelson-directed movie follows a spy who saves a few hostages being held captive at a mall by several terrorists. The Tamil action film is a must-watch for Vijay fans.
