When choosing your living room furniture, you must not limit yourself to just sofas and armchairs. A centre table is equally important in your living room. This is because the centre table can add more functionality and aesthetic beauty to the space. You can easily find various centre table designs in the market. Make sure you choose one that complements your living room decor. However, only placing the centre table in your sitting area is not sufficient. You must come up with decor ideas to accentuate your centre table. If you are not sure about how to decorate your centre table, here are a few tips that will help you:

01 of 05 Organise a few vases on it

You must not leave the tabletop completely empty. It will make the space appear boring. Instead, you can arrange a few vases on it to add more visual interest. There are various types of vases available in the market. Very carefully choose a few that complement each other and match your living room decor. Although many people prefer symmetry in home design, you should consider choosing vases of different shapes and sizes. This will make the space more appealing. However, the colour of all the vases should be similar. Keep the tallest vase in the centre and surround it with the smaller ones. Although you can leave the vases empty, putting in a few flowers certainly adds to the beauty of the space.

02 of 05 Place a sculpture and few books

Do you have any sculptures in your house? You can place it on your centre table to accentuate the space. Using a sculpture is a great idea to decorate your centre table. However, you will have to be careful when choosing the size of the sculpture. If it appears too big or too small, the appeal of your living room furniture will diminish. According to experts, the height of your sculpture should not be more than half of the diameter of the table. Placing only a small sculpture on the centre table can make it appear empty. This is why you can consider arranging piles of books around it.

03 of 05 Pair a vase with books

Instead of keeping a sculpture, you can place a vase as well. Follow the same strategy when choosing the size of the vase and place it in the centre of the table. Make sure you do not leave the vase empty. Put a few flowers and branches for added beauty. After placing the vase, arrange a few books around it like spokes of a wheel. This will give the interiors an appealing look. If the look appears incomplete, place a pair of stools by the centre table so that people can sit and go through the books.

04 of 05 Create an asymmetrical design

People always focus on creating symmetry. However, asymmetry can help to enhance the appeal of your living room as well. For instance, if you place your centre table in the corner and only one side stays in front, you can place a sculpture or vase at the back of the table and a few books in the front.  By creating an asymmetrical centre table design, you can make the setup appear less formal. Place a stool by the table to complete the look. If you further want to add more decor items, you can place them on the stacks of books. However, do not place an item on all the stacks.

05 of 05 Choose a home plant

Home plants have always been a popular option. They help to purify the air indoors and make the interiors feel fresh. Also, people feel more relaxed and comfortable when they have greenery around.  You can use them to decorate your centre table design as well. There are various types of home plants available in the market. Depending on your choice, you can get any option. While some appear very gorgeous, others spread a beautiful fragrance in your home interiors. Irrespective of what you choose, make sure that the plant is not too large for the table. A planter for the plant is also needed. You can easily find them in many different shapes, sizes, and colours. Choose one that matches your centre table design and does not appear too large for the space. You must also take maintenance into account when choosing home plants. If you do not have a lot of free time, only choose home plants that require low maintenance. Failing to meet the maintenance requirements can kill the plant.
